This is a subtitle for your new post

We’re all experiencing some ‘Corona cravings’ and we don’t mean the beer. Many of us are at home and doing the best we can to have three filling meals a day. But sometimes we’ve run out of creative ways to cook so it’s best to get some takeaway from our favourite restaurants and pubs.

Iron Horse Bar and Grill, home of the best pub food in Launceston, now has a takeaway menu that’s perfect for satisfying your cravings beyond the usual homecooked meals. We’re serving our crowd-pleasing best sellers - but we don’t want you to just chow down and gulp a glass of water.

Down our dishes with a refreshing pint of beers perfect for each type of dish we have. Drop by your local bottle-o and get our food and beer pairing suggestions below.

1. Crumbed Chicken Breast with India Pale Ales (IPAs)
Chicken breasts, whether fried, grilled or slathered with BBQ sauce, goes best with your favourite IPA. India Pale Ales have a bitter earth taste with a hint of citrus. Not only do they cleanse the palette after swallowing a chunk of chicken, but IPAs also bring out its flavour, making it more satisfying to eat.

2. Pork Ribs and Fries with Brown Ales
Brown ales are pretty much the most versatile beers out there and it’s easy to match them with just about any dish. If you’re hankering for some pork ribs with a side of fries and can’t decide on what kind of beer to pair it with, brown ales are your best option.

This beer type actually has hints of chocolate and coffee, making them bittersweet but all the same perfect with your pork ribs.

3. Burgers with Amber Ales
Burgers are our favourite go-to dishes any time of the day but they go perfectly with amber ales more than any other beer. It has a balanced taste and is also as versatile as brown ales. What makes this an ideal pairing for burgers is that they complement the rich meaty taste of the burger with light fruity and caramel notes.

4. Lemon Pepper Squid Salad with Pale Ales
Pale Ales are perfect for the spicier types of food we have on our takeaway menu. Not only are they great for the hotter dishes, but pale ales are also great for seafood and salads. Their sweet notes complement the spicy and salty taste of our lemon pepper squid salad by actually enhancing its spiciness.
